Religious freedom was central to the develpoment of some colonies because, if the colonies allow religious freedom then more people will come to live in the colony, and then the colony will grow because of the population increase, and some of those people are developing new businesses and new industries.
In some colonies it was denied because soem people wanted all the people in one colony to follow one religion, and they dont want the colonists to have the right to practice the religions they want.
